Sign of the Times

In today's mail came a letter from our homeowner's insurance company. Did I mention that it is (or was) an arm of WaMu Insurance Services...yes, that WaMu.

Anyway, the letter was sent to announce to us that WaMu has sold its existing "Personal Lines" insurance policies (oh, is that what we have) to a "leading American brokerage." Why does this scare me? And, of course, this follows the selling of our automobile insurance company a few months ago to AIG...yes, that AIG.

We used to laugh about some day having only one bank, one insurance company, one department store, one supermarket available to us. I'm thinking that day is approaching much sooner than we thought.

I do understand MS. FAIRWAY. I have a credit card with a company that WaMu took over a couple of years ago. And I started to worry about my beloved auto insurance company (that I've been with since I moved to CA 26 years ago) when AIG took them over last year (before I knew anything about AIG). I guess I have entered that phase of life where the only thing left to do is test the power of prayer although there are those with whom I violently disagree who claim to own God. Oh, what shall we do? :~D

Hello! And welcome to Bloggers Over 50!! We're happy to have you join our list of 'silver' bloggers.

I so know what you mean. Being retired, golf is supposedly something you do, right? Not me. I've seen a good deal with my sister, who is in the same 'boat' as you who's hubby thinks golfing is life. She's bored. [I thought of this from reading your profile and also your blog title...clever title indeed!] rofl

Again, happy to have you join us. My personal blog is waiting for you to drop by and visit any time.

Happy Monday.

I'm so with you!! If I didn't rely on God, I would be very depressed right now. But you know, I do trust in God...Not WaMu nor AIG!
